Why Finishing School?
Learning on the job is considered the best way of professional development in building industry. The young professionals being technology and information savvy, are primarily assigned production work of drawings and presentations. Due to lack of exposure to aspects like legal, finance, technical knowledge etc., they are seldom involved in thinking process, let alone decision making of projects. It takes long time, sometimes years, to attain such exposure which is necessary for them to participate productively in profession by implementing their own ideas.

Alternate Angle believes in guiding young professionals in their initial years of career, so they can identify and capitalize on their skills and talents. It provides a platform of Finishing School, to empowers the participants with practical knowledge, current trends and business practices of building industry. Professionals from different areas of industry shares their experience to facilitate participants to get acquainted holistically to the profession.

FSP is a medium to trains interns, fresh graduates and young professionals namely Architects, Civil / Structural Engineers, MEP Engineers, Interior Designers and Draughtsman; with tools of Experience & Exposure to professional work. Projects of Alternate Angle’s consultancy division are used to provide hands-on work experience. The structured formats of Academy’s program of seminars provides the insight and discussions provokes thoughts, seeks solutions about various aspect of profession.

As phase 1, we have started Finishing School Program for Architects (FSP – Architect), which will be followed by other professional trades of building industry. The vision of Finishing School is to create an inter-disciplinary, interactive and a practical training program that grooms professionals of building industry.FSP – Architect is specially designed for young architects and architectural interns to provide a holistic view of architecture profession and step by step procedure for design implementation in real world.

Program Format
FSP – Architects conducted over a period of 18 weeks parallel to semester requirements of academic internships. The participants- interns, fresh graduates and young professionals- enroll in the program and are inducted as interns in consultancy division. The program begins with orientation to projects and office standards. The interns are assigned mentors from senior team for day to day discussions and checking of progressive work course assignments.
